This creative workshop is not intended as a means of psychoanalysis, but rather, a chance to consider and witness what themes and metaphors are most pronounced for you at this time in your life. Historically, the Maori used sacred symbols such as a tree, house/ home, mountain, path, flower, etc. to explore themes of personal growth, identity, life passions, structure, and transformation. Here, you’re invited to create your own drawing (containing personal symbolism), using it as a visual resource and tool for self reflection and guidance.
Do not let the term ‘drawing’ deter you. Any application of artistic media is welcome, whether it be collage, abstract markings (doodles), or a combination of the two.
